Charlie Huston rocks

If anyone knows Charlie Huston, tell him, from me, that his books kick ass.

I just finished reading No Dominion, the second book in the Joe Pitt vampire/detective series, and it's another winner. (I read the first, Already Dead, a couple of weeks ago, and it, too, is outstanding.)

I haven't read Huston's Hank Thompson trilogy yet, but I'm planning to. Yesterday I went on Amazon and bought a copy of Caught Stealing, the first book in the series. (You may not know this, but I'm a cheap bastard and I hate paying money for books. So this is saying something!)

Charlie Huston is the real deal. Hard boiled, inventive, witty, with a fresh eye and sharp prose. If you're not reading him, you should be.

I'm reading him and you are right. HE KICKS ASS - and forgets about taking names! Everything he has written rocks. No Dominion is no exception. But it is exceptional. Finished it like two days after it came out. Huston rules.

I love Charlie Huston, and I predict you'll love CAUGHT STEALING. It's dark, lyric, relentless, charming, and terrifying all in one. Man has mad skills.

I'm actually doing a signing with him at The Poisoned Pen later this month (how crazy is that?) so I'll pass along your sentiments. If I can keep from fanboy stuttering.

My first attempt at posting cut me off and returned to the site, so hopefully this won’t be a duplicate. I read CAUGHT STEALING when it was first released, and have been hooked on Huston’s books ever since. The sequel SIX BAD THINGS is one of those rare books that live up to the debut. I’ve been saving the last of the Henry Thompson trilogy, because I will truly be sorry to see it end. To be honest I don’t like vampire stories, but I bought ALREADY DEAD simply because Huston wrote it, and was not disappointed. I bought NO DOMINION recently but haven’t read it yet.

Couldn't agree more, David. And 'Caught Stealing' is superb.

I live in Stanislaus county...sigh... where Six Bad Things is partly based. Wonder why he chose that locale. Love the book.
