Laura Lippman is proof of the power of crime fiction to challenge, move, and transport a reader. No matter who you are, you are a different person after reading her books. We can all learn a lot from her writing.

I agree with Tim about Laura's work. I stopped reading Bob Crais a few years ago, but it sounds like the new one is worth a look.
