I'm particularly pleased to see that Harley Jane Kozak's wonderful book won as Best First Novel. It was nominated for the Gumshoe Award as well and is a terrific read.

Harley rocks! Thank you for posting this, and congratulations all around...

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Cornelia's name on that list in 2 years time.

You are extremely extremely kind to say that, David, and it would be a great honor even to be nominated, as they say. But I think I may have ruled myself out from Agatha contention--if not with gratuitous violence (um...stuff like dead guys with their own amputated thumbs stuck in their mouths), then because one of my characters is nicknamed "Ice Cunt."

Harley was nice enough to say I might still have a shot, but it seems like kind of a stretch to me.

Wow, Cornelia, amputated thumbs and "Ice Cunt"? Can't wait to read it!

Congratulations to all the Agatha and Edgar winners!
