I just started reading Wambaugh with The New Centurions. On another L.A. note, I also just started reading Ellroy also.

I can certainly see eleements of darkness in the novel, but with all the oddballs on the force, it felt like the Boston Legal of police procedurals(And that show has plenty of good serious moments too)
It was a great book.
