Kevin Wignall writes:
For the best part of ten years, as the ultimate slacker, I would tell people I was writing, and I did actually write a few short stories and a couple of short messy novels, but I had no focus or drive. I was writing in much the same way that 19th Century gentlemen might have painted watercolours or collected butterflies -- it was little more than an occasional diversion.
Then one day the light switched on, I realized I needed to be serious and professional and actually write a book -- People Die was the result and it landed me some great agents and some very lucrative publishing deals. So not quite overnight, and I don't yet consider myself particularly successful, but then, that's writers for you.
Kevin Wignall is the author of three thrillers, including his latest, For the Dogs. He currently lives in the west of England where he is working on his next novel.
The key is to have a love of truth, soul, truth, wherever met, put it absorbs come.
